The partnership between Thomas Edison State University and United Parcel Service (UPS) was selected as a winner at the 10th Annual Corporate University Xchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning in February.

UPS received the Exemplary Practice award in the category of Corporate/College Partnerships for its partnership with Thomas Edison State University.

Since 2008, UPS has worked with Thomas Edison State University to retain and develop its workforce across North America through online degree programs and undergraduate certificates that can be delivered wherever an employee needs them. The company’s unique relationship with the college, based in Trenton, N.J., focuses on providing a coordinated group of academic programs, starting with a customized six-course Operations Management certificate that fits into an associate degree and ultimately, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree at the school.

“We are honored to continue to be an educational partner of UPS,” said Dr. George A. Pruitt, president of Thomas Edison State University. “Our goal is to provide UPS employees with programs that fit around their busy lives and to provide UPS with the programs it needs to develop and retain employees and become a stronger organization.”

The Corporate University Xchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning salute corporate and government learning organizations that create exciting, effective programs that result in measurable improvements in employee and business performance.
