Thomas Edison State University is New Jersey's only senior institution of higher learning to be selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Energy's Nuclear Energy University Program, which enables students focusing on the nuclear field to apply for one-year, $5,000 scholarships.
Thomas Edison State University is the only senior institution of higher learning in New Jersey selected to participate in a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) scholarship program for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in the nuclear energy field.
The scholarships are being offered through the department’s Nuclear Energy University Programs (NEUP) and are $5,000 for one year. To be eligible, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and enrolled in a NEUP-accepted institution where they are studying nuclear science, engineering or an area of study related to the nuclear industry.
At Thomas Edison State University, students enrolled in the University’s undergraduate programs in Energy Systems Technology, Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology, Nuclear Engineering Technology and Radiation Protection were invited to submit scholarship applications. The University is one of only 62 colleges and universities selected nationally for eligibility in the program.
The application period for the scholarship program opened on Feb. 27 and runs through March 19.
