Peter E. Bickel Named Associate Vice President for University Marketing and Recruitment at Thomas Edison State University

TRENTON, N.J. — Peter E. Bickel, JD, of Wynnewood, Pa., has been appointed as associate vice president for University Marketing and Recruitment in the Division of Enrollment Management at Thomas Edison State University.

In making the announcement, Dr. Dennis W. Devery, vice president for Enrollment Management, Division of Enrollment Management, said, “With Peter’s appointment, Thomas Edison State University gains a very seasoned, highly successful leader in marketing and recruitment. We are fortunate indeed to have been able to attract such a talented and committed professional to join the university in this important position. I am confident that Peter’s skills and experience will serve the university well as we continue to provide innovative ways to fulfill the learning needs and goals of our adult students.”

Bickel comes to the university with nearly 16 years of leadership experience in higher education marketing. Most recently, he was interim executive director of Marketing and Communications for Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) in Blue Bell, Pa. In that role, he executed brand strategy, employing marketing campaigns designed to heighten visibility of the college and drive enrollment. Prior to MCCC, Bickel served in a senior management position at Villanova University in Villanova, Pa., where he was hired as that institution’s first director of marketing. He began his career in higher education as the chief marketing and communications officer for Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore, Wis.

Bickel holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis School of Law (King Hall) in Davis, Calif., and a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
