*These graduate-level courses give students nine graduate credits that will apply to the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree requirements at Thomas Edison State University upon acceptance to that degree program. Students planning on advancing their degree into the MSN program must get a B or better in these courses. Accelerated BSN students may apply to the MSN program after successful completion of the BSN program and passing the NCLEX-RN®.
To be met upon completion of the BSN degree program
Each hybrid course includes time spent in the skills and simulation lab. Our high-fidelity Simulation and Skills Lab prepares students to think critically, reinforce theory concepts, and enhance clinical decision-making skills in a safe environment. We have several different types of simulation rooms, including a maternity and a homecare/community room, that give students a variety of nursing experiences.
During labs and simulations, students use what they have learned in the classroom to care for realistic and interactive mannequins. These practice experiences are recorded and provide students with feedback and a chance to reflect on their nursing practices.
Experiences are held one to two days a week for up to 12 hours, at a variety of regional University-affiliated acute care facilities and non-acute care organizations.
In order to be eligible for entry into these facilities, all clinical compliance requirements must be met.
