BA in Music

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Music from Thomas Edison State University (TESU) is a 120-credit online program designed to accommodate the lifestyle demands of working adults. Our flexible program provides a strong foundation to prepare writers, performers, educators, directors, music therapists and more with a well-rounded background in music theory, music history and traditional liberal arts disciplines.

Learning Outcomes

As a graduate of our BA in Music, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Western music theory, including harmony, rhythm and thematic development
  • Explain the history of world music and current trends, including classical, jazz, folk and popular expressions
  • Write descriptively and analytically about music and performance
