BA in International Studies

Open a world of possibilities and transform your passion for global issues into an internationally focused career with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Studies from Thomas Edison State University (TESU). In an increasingly globalized society, today’s leaders must understand the impact of economics, the environment, culture, governance, human rights and religion worldwide. Our 120-degree online program provides the necessary skills to thrive in a complex, interconnected world and includes coursework in various social, political, cultural and economic disciplines.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the BA in International Studies, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a global and regional understanding of international studies from multiple academic disciplines.
  • Analyze international and global issues through multiple perspectives.
  • Understand the connections between global cultures and politics.
  • Develop introductory-level communicative skills in a foreign language.
  • Critically analyze and evaluate globalization processes at local, national and international levels.

How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study:

Some courses in the area of study may be completed with Thomas Edison State University and/or courses from other colleges. Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) and/or examinations may also be used.
