BA in Sociology

Our 120-credit online program provides a broad general liberal arts background while exploring how humans interact and examining the social dynamics of societies to better understand human behavior, beliefs, attitudes and social organization.

Learning Outcomes

As a graduate of our BA in Sociology, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of major theoretical concepts and historical trends in sociology
  • Apply scientific method to examine sociological issues
  • Describe the importance of values, ethical standards and diversity in sociology
  • Display knowledge of individuals in society in such areas as culture, socialization, groups and organizations and crime
  • Discuss some of the underlying factors concerning social stratification, global stratification, race and ethnicity, gender and more
  • Compare the social dynamics of major social institutions
