An Area of Study may offer concentrations, i.e., specializations within the field of study. Generally, students complete a portion of the core Area of Study requirements and then select focused courses to complete the concentration.
A concentration includes a minimum of 12 semester hours and a maximum of 21 semester hours of specialized course work with no less than 50% of the concentration credits upper level credits. The requirements and the curriculum for a concentration are determined by the academic School offering the concentration with the appropriate approval of the Undergraduate Academic Council and the Provost.
There will be a notation on the final transcript that will identify the concentration. Concentrations will only be noted on the transcript at the completion of the degree.
